Harry Potter Gender Reveal

So this week, Steven and I had our gender reveal and we had a special guest to be there to reveal the gender. The Sorting Hat! That's right, Steven and I had a Harry Potter themed gender reveal party. We didn't go over the top, but we did have a few things to make it very Harry Potter.
We had a little table set up with our Sorting Hat sign. Behind this we hid a blue balloon (Surprise we're having a boy!) so that no one could see it. We also put our favorite picture of baby boy Declan on the table.
For our friends and family who could actually be at our home, we had Harry Potter themed snacks. Pictured above are Butterbeer cupcakes. We go the recipe from a blog called The Disney Diner (link to the recipe below). They were delicious! They took a long time to make because everything from the cupcakes to the icing was home-made, but it was so worth it! This was the first time I ever did anything with drizzling and freezing chocolate so I was pretty proud of how my little lightening bolts turned out. Steven did the frosting after they were all cooled so they are pretty thanks to him.
Lastly, we had Butterbeer for our guests to drink. It was such a simple recipe and it was so good. We still actually have 2 bottles left, but we're ok with that. Not pictured here is the marshmallow foam that we put on top of the Butterbeer once it was in the glass. It was seriously so delicious. It was such a great night and even though it seemed that it was all over when it began, it was great to be able to share this with our friends and family. We are so excited for our little boy to get here and we are even more excited that everyone knows what we're having now.
